Multipurpose Use Packaging That Goes Beyond Snack Delivery

THE PROJECT

Playful Bites is an exploration project of packaging design. The concept behind this packaging started with the research on current trends and encompasses the idea of multi-purpose use and interactivity. This project aimed to provide snack food for kids, 7 years and older, to entertain themselves with unique packaging that can transform into a game. Whether it is at home or on the go, or at school, it can be a fun way to snack and play.

The prompt made for this project based off my research was:

Create a playful, bold, and multipurpose use packaging that can transform into a game that can go beyond snack delivery.

Process Highlights

Research Process

Compiled various forms of information and research into one document. From literature reviews, books, and card sorting/surveys to researching existing financial literacy resources.
Design Brief

Created a design brief to guide the packaging project. Includes project summary, background context, design problem, target audience, goal, success factors, guidelines, and timeline.
Moodboarding

Created three moodboards for feedback and communicate concept of idea.
Final Moodboard

Utilized feedback to create a final moodboard to guide visual direction of project.
Template Design

Made my own die-line template based off of trial and error for another feedback session.
Preliminary Sketches

Sketched out the dieline for the packaging including placement of where various assets could go.
Iterations

Developed initial iterations including different types of snacks that could be offered.
Timesheet

Used a timesheet to track progress and how many hour dedicated to each moving part of the project.

PROCESS BOOK

Complete look into the whole process book created to document all research, design brief, moodboards, iterations, revisions, final product, and reflections.
